Why go to Disney World and Orlando during Christmas?

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Holidays at Disney WorldEvery year one of Florida Spirit’s busiest times of the year is Christmas Holiday Season.  Many people are still shocked when they learn that Orlando and Disney World are really popular during Christmas time.  I know that warm sunny weather, palm trees and theme parks are not the first thing people think of when envisioning the Holiday Season.  The truth is, for many people, Orlando and most importantly Disney World are the very essence of the

Holiday spirit and Florida Spirit Vacation Homes is proud to be part of it.

For many of us Christmas time is about family, sharing the wonder of imagination and even a little magic.  It is a time when children dream even bigger and smile even wider.  Adults reflect on years past and our own childhood.  Christmas helps us remind ourselves of the people we are and continue to strive to be.  We tend to see the World as a smaller place and that we all have a lot in common.

I feel that the magic of Disney is that they provide this every day of the year, but during Christmas time people open their eyes even more to it.  Disney has great seasonal shows and all the characters that several generations grew up with, come together.

I do agree, even after 18 years living in

Orlando, that a palm tree with Christmas lights is a little strange, and trust me decorating one is no easy feat.  The warm weather is great but I have never seen a white Christmas in

Orlando.  I also agree being in a hotel room on Christmas morning lacks something, like a Christmas tree and decorations.  The family Christmas dinner at the restaurant or even the local buffet is just wrong.

This is where Florida Spirit Vacation Homes  plays its role. We rent vacation homes located a few miles from Disney World and the vacation homes are really great for the families during the Holidays.  Over the years we have seen it all.  We have helped guest get Christmas trees and even decorations.  Many families drive to us and bring

Holiday decorations with them.  One year a guy brought a live tree on the roof of the family SUV.  All the homes have complete kitchens and seating for everyone for Christmas dinner.  In past years we have even setup chefs to come to the homes and prepare dinner or cater it in…  Mom and Grand Mom are allowed to be on vacation too!  With all the great shopping in

Orlando many people wait until they are here to buy the gifts and save even more.  Other guests have had gifts shipped to our offices to be picked up when they arrive.

If you are feeling the need this year for even more of the Christmas joy and spirit and have not made plans yet, consider us.  There are great savings and values for everyone in

Orlando this year whether you were naughty or nice.

A New Downtown Disney

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

If you haven’t been following Florida news because you only visit once or twice a year on vacation maybe you haven’t heard the news that Walt Disney World is closing its 6 nightclubs at Pleasure Island. If you have been to any of the Pleasure Island clubs before, starting September 27th Mannequins, 8 Trax, BET sound stage, Adventurers Club, Motion and Comedy Warehouse will be closing their doors. Other venues currently located in the same area will remain open such as Ragland Road an Irish Pub, the Harley-Davidsons shop and other restaurants that host nightclubs that operate as a part of the restaurant. The area will go under construction and a more family friendly environment will emerge. When Pleasure Island opens again we are set to see a mixture of restaurants and shops that are more appealing to families that are visiting Florida. That is a plus for vacation home rental companies such as Florida Spirit. Many people who are renting vacation homes are visiting with family and friends and are looking for a relaxed fun time they could share with their children, parents and even grandparents. Whether it’s visiting the many theme parks or just walking around Downtown Disney sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs.

West Side and the Marketplace will also receive some updating and possibly a new attraction. With Florida Spirit Vacation Homes being so close to the Disney area the new Downtown Disney will be another amenity to enjoy while staying in your vacation home. If you are visiting with friends and are looking to have great week or weekend according to Kevin Lansberry VP of Downtown Disney “Some of the offerings might feel like a nightclub, but they won’t feel like high-energy clubs like we have today in all likelihood,” so you can still go to Downtown Disney and enjoy the restaurants and shops and have a good time at the new venues that will be added. There are also areas such as City Walk and downtown Orlando which still offer nightlife entertainment and with the closure of Pleasure Island clubs this will be an opportunity them to make their venues even more appealing to vacationers and local residents who enjoyed Pleasure islands nightclubs.
