Now that I have lived here in the area for a few months and had a chance to go out to some of the local restaurants, I thought I would pass along two truly unique and mouth watering eateries I discovered thus far.  These are also easily accessed from your Orlando Vacation Home Rental-

The first on my list is Kumo Japanese Restaurant, 207 Ambersweet Way, Davenport FL – 863.420.7779. Don’t be fooled – from the outside I would have never been attracted to see what’s on the other side of the door. Luckily I was convinced to give it a try. I sure am glad I did – WOW some of the best Sushi I have ever had.  Service was impeccable and Sushi was beyond excellent.  I went on a Saturday evening, chose to sit at the bar where we could be entertained with the art of making Sushi Rolls. There should be a line out the door to get in this place!

The second on my list happens to be right around the corner at Sundays Grill & Bar 2414 Sand Mine Road, Davenport FL-  863.588.2162. A very friendly English Pub that serves the best Fish and Chips I have had in my life- NO joke. The fish is fresh, battered and fried to order. The tartar sauce well it is hard to describe, just perfect – you just have to try it for yourself.   Atmosphere is a cozy combination of English and American decor that many English visitors find as a home away from home.                                           �
Caution: Having eaten the fish and chips in the Grill and also as a carry out I must insist to eat it at the grill when freshly served. Most Delicious! Let us know what you think!

So many wonderful people from all over the country have chosen to rent one of our luxurious Orlando Vacation Home Rentals on this National Holiday to be with friends and family. Everyone will agree that Thanksgiving is filled with lots of Turkey, stuffing, pies and side dishes that can tempt us all to over eat.  Instead of overindulging this year, take a few preventative measures:

1.)    Eat a decent breakfast and lunch, yes even on Thanksgiving.

2.)    Drink your H2O! Water will help in many aspects, help you in digestion and keep you from over eating but most importantly keeps you hydrated.

3.)    Take your time! Enjoy your food- I know this can be difficult especially if you have been watching the turkey come in and out of the oven all day.

4.)    Eat your Cranberries!  Those little red berries are loaded with some of the most powerful antioxidants. They can help in preventing bacteria from forming while lowering cholesterol, protecting against some cancers and help prevent cavities.

5.)    Eat your veggies, Yes just like your Mother said they are good for you!

6.)    Eat more white meat than the dark and try to keep your skin consumption to a minimum. Be sparing on the gravy, a little can go a long way.

7.)    Take a break- Wait 15 minutes before going back for seconds. This will help prevent you from over eating.

If you have never been to Disney World, you will be in for one BIG surprise!  Besides the fact it is one of the most awesome and magical places on the world, it’s also HUMONGOUS!! If you don’t want to get lost, you may need some help to keep you going on the right path for your adventurous day!

As always I advise plan ahead, so you don’t end up running around in circles, lost! It has been rumor since the beginning of the year that Disney was working on an application to help you find your way. Now the first Disney Parks mobile application is official! 

Last week the first screen shots were made public. The Verizon Wireless application can help you with character locations, attractions, wait times and FASTPASS information. GPS enabled maps will help get you anywhere in the park!

No official release date posted, just a: “Coming soon!”

If you’re an Iphone user, well as Apple says: “There’s an App for that!” From a Disney checklist to radio station and games. Yes even a very special handy map!

Additional charges may apply to your service plans for these applications, however they might be worth considering if they can help save you time.  

For guests with visual or hearing disabilities Disney also offers several convenient services. The palm-sized hand-held device can provide additional assistance by describing visual attraction elements and amplified audio captioning. These devices can be obtained from the Guest Relations office, for a fully refundable $100 deposit.
